New Worlds in Words Literary Salon
with Gwendolyn Alley, MA

This interactive workshop series meets monthly in February, March, April and May on Wednesdays from 6-8p. Join us as books inspire us to new worlds of words with conversation, guest speakers, and writing prompts led by award winning wine writer and Ventura College adjunct English professor Gwendolyn Alley. Class size limited to 12 in-person with 10 on ZOOM. New Worlds Salon Presenter Gwendolyn Alley is an award winning wine writer, poet, artist, and adjunct professor of English at Ventura College. She has a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary background including BAs from UC Santa Cruz in Literature/Creative Writing and in Environmental Studies plus a graduate certificate in education from UCSC, a Masters degree in English with an emphasis in the teaching and practice of writing from the University of Nevada, Reno and a Masters in Depth Psychology with an emphasis in Community, Liberation, Indigenous, Ecopsychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute. Art/Life published three dozen of her broadsides, she completed two public spoken word commissions, and the City of Ventura awarded her two artists fellowships. As a wine writer, Gwendolyn focuses on wine and food pairings and specializes in sustainability; in 2022, she won the prestigious Jancis Robinson Wine Writing Contest with her essay about regenerative agriculture. Gwendolyn thrives in the outdoors, and her diverse experiences include parenting peregrine falcons, hooting for spotted owls, leading teenagers up 14,000’ peaks in Colorado, summiting Mt Kilimanjaro, backpacking 2800 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail, and attending Burning Man. http://winepredator.com  http://artpredator.com
